The Probate Registries
The probate offices that issue grants of probate and grants of letters of administration are known as Probate Registries.
The Principal Probate Registry is situated in Central London, and there are 11 District Probate Registries and 18 Probate Sub-Registries. These are administered by HM Courts Service, which is part of the Ministry of Justice.
